Customer Background

Bangladesh Railway is a state-owned organization that manages and operates the country’s rail system. Stations like Rajshahi and Kamalapur have diverse rail fleets that require regular cleaning, so the agency needed routine maintenance facilities at specific locations.

The Challenge

As passenger rail operations expanded, Bangladesh Railway required each train to be washed so the transport agency could keep its trains clean without increasing labor or delays. The railway required an automated system capable of cleaning an entire passenger train with less water consumption and a safer environment. The new equipment also needed to integrate easily with everyday procedures without causing any unnecessary delays or problems.

The NS Corporation Solution

NS Corporation designed and built two drive-through train wash systems that were custom-made to meet the requirements of the Bangladesh railway network. The cleaning systems remove dirt from the sides, roofs, and undercarriage components of trains automatically, while allowing manual cleaning when needed.

This wash equipment in Bangladesh delivers fast, effective cleaning of complex parts of the train while ensuring future maintenance is simplified. Sustainable water management practices are achieved by using water recycling technology to reduce water consumption.

Customized for the Bangladesh Railway

NS Corporation built a customized solution that reduces labor requirements and delivers consistent results across facilities. It combines durable equipment with a solution built specifically for Bangladesh railways. Drive-through cleaning systems were successfully installed at both Dhaka and Rajshahi locations.

Results

The automated systems installed by NS Corporation enable the Bangladesh transport agency to wash a 14-coach passenger train in about 10 minutes instead of relying on manual cleaning methods. Through efficient water recycling, the Bangladesh train cleaning system is designed to reduce operating costs by reusing wash water and conserving fresh water.

The automated cleaning wash systems provided by NS Corporation gave the Bangladesh transport agency more consistent cleaning performance while improving worker safety. Water consumption was reduced to only 400 liters per wash, saving 600 liters per cycle.
